Very wise words. I had the same feelings today. Thank you very much for your willingness to be so open!!! I hope other traders read this and understand it is not only ok to take a break, but it is very much advised before the dam breaks.
Thanks Andy, so refreshing to hear someone speak so openly about burn out which as you say, can most likely will happen to all of us if we don't pay attention to the other parts of our life. Your honesty and openness will not doubt help others.
40 years in as a small business owner myself, I know exactly where Andy is coming from, the 24/7/365 work schedule and the host of problems that must be solved! The brilliantly written essay he wrote is pure TRUTH, and please take heed to it's warning.
So sorry to hear about your Dog. Thanks for your vulnerability, Andy. It takes courage to be honest and take action like this. I really appreciate all the donated time and wisdom you have shared with the room and myself, including this blog entry. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you the best rest and replenishment of your spirit.
Andy thanks for sharing your feelings. We all appreciate you, and don't forget to take some time off. This will allow to empty your mind, find yourself again. To help others you need to help yourself first.
It is not weak to say stop at some point. Sometimes, a retreat is the best strategy to go further.
We all do this activity because of the profit potential, and the love for the game. But I also believe we do it for the freedom of living life in our own terms. To be able to go fishing at 2:52 on a sunny tuesday just because we want to.
Trading is not easy, this is the life we have chosen as traders. So let's enjoy the benefits it can provide to us. Freedom of choice and time is one of them.
